Job Summary

The outside sales representatives of National Capital Industries are one of the daily connections that connect us with our customers. The customers' needs may change on a moment's notice, and it is imperative that their sales representative be in constant contact and develop a relationship - one of trust and dependability.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • National Capital Industries (NCI) seeks an Outside Sales Person to procure new business & manage/grow existing accounts.
  • The service area includes northern Virginia and Montgomery County, MD. Our customer base includes Contractors and Government Agencies; however, we cater to individuals as well. It is the responsibility of the outside sales persons to continue to grow the customer base as well as continue to cater to the needs of existing customers.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Applicant should be a self-starter with construction and safety related experience

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 2-years business to business sales experience.

  • A minimum High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or proven track record are preferred.

  • Good organizational skills are a must.

  • Good written and spoken skills are a must.

  • Applicants should be fluent with basic common computer programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Regular reports will be required to update on customer status.

  • Must be prepared to identify and rectify problems – in addition to sales

  • Staff members need learn about regulations and be comfortable reading plans in order to become an asset to our customers. In some cases additional product research will be required.

  • Normal work hours: 7:00 – 5:00 Monday through Friday

  • Occasional evening and overnight trips will be required.

  • Must have a current driver’s license

  • Must pass a background check & drug testing
